The NBA is partnering with Clear Health Pass for COVID-19 screening purposes, per a report from the NBA.
“This partnership builds on CLEAR’s history of innovation as it continues to help shape the future of sports and enhance the fan experience,” the NBA said in a press release.
Health Pass is defined as a “free, mobile experience” for consumers to access and store secure medical information.
“Trust and transparency are CLEAR’s number one priority, and with Health Pass, our goal is to get people back to what they love while ensuring they are always in control of their health information,” CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker said in the league’s PR.
Soon, NBA fans (and employees) who are vaccinated will be able to prove their inoculation via the Health Pass.
Many players in the league have already taken the COVID-19 vaccine – but there’s still a long way to go to get to a majority vaccination rate.
Earlier this week, President Joe Biden announced that all U.S. adults will be eligible for the vaccine by April 19.
